A white linen cloth with rectangles of cutwork circles in each corner and edged with a wide hem and simple drawn thread work. Could be used as a tray cloth, a table centre or placemat. Simple and unusual.
The cloth is in good condition, with no holes or snags but there are a couple of small stains. It has been neatly stitched (see close-up photo below).
It has a couple of laundry markers - one stitched (visible on the close-up) and one written on the reverse. This suggests that it is quite old - these marks were used for identification when linen was sent away to be laundered.
Measures 52 x 33 cm (20½ x 13 inches).
Freshly laundered and from a smoke and pet-free home.
